Day 11. Thursday, 21 December 2006
Still Thursday -- just late at night now. District Human Resources employee Rebecca Sousa called me today wanting to know why I couldn't have my car shipped tomorrow -- I need it to finish clearing out my house as I had already explained in an email to Mr. Sennett last night when I asked for an extension on the time I retain my ID card. I have no response to that email, but I do have lots of "help" from District now. Ms. Sousa made an appointment for me to ship my car on the 27th. She assures me that I need only run my car through the car wash and vaccum it out and that will do for the inspection. I have spoken to the Trans Car people who tell me that plenty of cars that have had a $150 detail job do not pass inspection for the cleanliness checkmark to be applied.
My guess is if I were to do the wash and vaccum job and then the car failed inspection, District would then claim I was intentionally delaying my departure and the failed inspection is negligence on my part. That would be a great excuse to have in hand to then deny me any Temporary Quarters and Subsistance Allowance. The funny part about the conversation with Ms. Sousa, and later in responding to her email, was as I tried to explain that with the holidays approaching people are taking leave -- the very people I need appointments with in order to out-process. Then Ms. Sousa asked if I could explain all this in an email to her so she could forward it for HQ action. And could I please write that email "right now" because she too, was preparing to go on leave! As it happened, before I could sit down to do that, the packers asked me to finish cleaning up the chainlink kennel panels I shipped over because they were ready to pack them and there was an accumulation of dirt on the bottom rails. So, two hours later I wrote to Ms. Sousa and got an automatic "out of the office" reply! Seems like that might be a case in point about why I can't seem to get out of country fast enough to suit the Three wise Men.
Although they haven't yet given me their reasons for my needing to leave like a ride on the Polar`Express, it would probably be something like: I am distracting the students from their studies, disrupting the educational environment -- or something like that. And to that I respond: What is disruptive and distracting to the students is an administration who has been caught behaving dishonestly and perhaps in violation of federal law, now attempting to cover up their actions, and hope that with the anticipation of Santa's arrival all the good little boys and girls will forget about the adults' bad behavior. I wonder how the students and the parents are suppose to feel the next time this back-tracking trio of tricksters tells them the "truth" about a student's alleged actions. If the trio will contrive the kinds of reasons they did to fire me, can you imagine how easy it is to come up with "witnesses" to a student's rule violations?
Day 11: Thursday, December 21! Mid day update! They are working faster than anticipated! I just received a call from the Bavaria district telling me that my car can be shipped tomorrrow! Of course, the packers are still at my house. District thought I should just run my car over to the car wash and have a run through on it and then send it off -- like that will pass inspection! Up the ante!? I'll bet I'm on a plane home on Christmas Day. The sooner they can get me out of here, out of sight, the better life it is for them and their cover-up. I really hope the brakes don't "go out" on my car on the way to Graf!
Just for the record, here is the email I sent to Mr. Thompson last week regarding Mr. Werner's comments at the Halloween party:
He wrote:
I have received this message and am attempting to verify the claims made herein.
The blocking of your website, I believe, is only from DoDDS-owned computers on a DoDDS-owned LAN, that is for DoDDS business. I'm quite certain that your personal website can be accessed by anyone from their home computer.

Dear Mr. Thompson,
I write tonight not to harrangue you for intervention, but to make certain you are fully aware of what Mr. Sennett and Mr. Werner are doing. Did you know they have blocked access to my personal web site? That is a violation of federal law under protection from censorship. You may recall when the retired generals were commenting about the war --DoD blocked access to several of their personal web sites, but had to unblock it in compliance with federal law.
It seems evident to me that Mr. Werner feels his inheritance of the VHS Principal-ship is all but final and he need only spend his time consolidating his power and providing employment opportunities for friends. I was at a staff Halloween party and sat just across from Mr. Werner. Following his second beer he informed me he will be hiring Chip Bassett as his Assistant Principal next year. I was under the impression that administrative positions were hired through an open job-posting and application process and not via being annointed by the reigning Principal.
In a mix of amusement and irony and as a final comment, you should know that while Mr. Sennett has fired me in part because of typographical errors in the student newspaper, the email he sent to me notifying me of the meeting at which he intended to inform me of my termination, had a typo in it -- just in case you needed evidence to fire him!
