Week of Dec. 4, 2006
1) Tests on supplemental reading books
Week of November 27, 2006
1) 10 pts. In class response paper (hand written -- 2 pages or you may use the computers -- 1 page) on your experiences with the Thanksgiving holiday. You may write about this past T-day or one from farther back in your life.
2) 10 pts. Review the character analysis that you wrote two weeks ago. Does your analysis still seem accurate? Write a one paragraph discussion about each of your charaters and the traits you admire or dislike and be sure to give examples to support your opinion.
3) 5xc pts. Arrange on your own time to take an AR test on the supplemental reading book. Be sure to get a verification of some kind that you have taken the test so that I can give you xc points. Either have Mrs. Todd print off a score sheet of your test, she can send me an email, or you can send me a gaggle-net mail telling me when you took the test and what your score was.
Week of November 20
1) 2nd period meets in library for Gaggle-account training -- see information below.
2) 5 xc pts for having your grade progression graph with you to add in week three point totals.
Friday, November 17 for 5th & 7th periods.
1) We will be in the library for Gaggle account email training. By the end of the class period you will have signed on to your account and sent me an email message.
2) 5 pts Use your finest Shakespearean language skills in the email. You will also have an information pack about using the Gaggle system and a parent permission form.
3) 5 pts. Have the form signed and return to me at our next class meeting.
Week of November 13, 2006
1) Descriptive writing -- discussion and examples
2)10 pts: How to make a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.
3) Analyze descriptive language in supplemental novels -- discussion.
4) 5 pts: Create a graph to chart your grade progression throught this 9 weeks.
Week of November 6, 2006
1) We will focus all of our reading this week on our supplemental novels. See specifics for each class in the box to the right.
2) 30 pts: Define the term Character Analysis. Using the Sample Character Traits list of adjectives, consider the characters in the supplemental novels and develop several scenarios that show the character revealing those traits. Use three characters. (10 points per character) Be sure to identify the character as either the protagonist or an antagonist.
3) Using School House Rocks DVD, review adjectives.
